Sonam faster, better than me on roads: Anil

Anil Kapoor believes his eldest daughter, Sonam Kapoor, leaves him far behind when it comes to speeding in cars.
"She's faster and better than me. I believe in change and youth, I think we have to make way for youngster... that's very important," said Anil, who was recently in Greater Noida for a casual car race with Ajay Devgn.
Sonam was seen driving high-speed cars in the movie "Players".
Anil was left behind in his race with Ajay at the F1 track in Greater Noida earlier this week. They were promoting their film "Tezz", releasing Friday.

Emraan is USP of 'Jannat 2': Esha Gupta

Model-turned-actress Esha Gupta, who is set to make her Bollywood debut with "Jannat 2", says her co-star Emraan Hashmi is one of the main attractions of the film.
"It's a Bhatt camp (Mukesh and Mahesh Bhatt) film. You know, the film is going to be amazing because of the music. Thanks to Pritam (Chakraborty), we have got amazing music already and the star already, you know, Emraan Hashmi! What else do you think is the USP of the film," the 26-year-old said here.
"Jannat 2" is a sequel to the 2008-film "Jannat" and is set to hit theatres May 4.
According to earlier reports, actress Jacqueline Fernandez was supposed to play the role, which ultimately went to Esha. But the debutante says she is lucky to have bagged the film, directed by Kunal Deshmukh.
"Yes, that's what even I read that Jackie (Jacqueline) was supposed to do it (the film). But for some reason of hers or the director, it didn't work out. As I say... whoever gets it, it's their good luck," said Esha who was crowned Miss India International in 2007.
She also featured in the Kingfisher calendar.

Indian film industry has withstood Hollywood storm: Javed Akhtar

Writer-lyricist Javed Akhtar, who has been part of the Indian film industry for more than four decades, says so far only Bollywood has not suffered at the hands of Hollywood.
"Hollywood is such a powerful film industry that it has ruined film industries of the world. Wherever Hollywood films reach, the original film industry of that nation got ruined, except India. Our film industry is flourishing be it Tamil and Telugu films," the 67-year-old said here at the music launch of "Ye Khula Aasman".
The Indian film industry turns 100 next year and Akhtar is happy that it is spreading roots across the world.
"Our films are showcased in around one 30 nations abroad. The number of nations that view Hindi films is increasing and this is not an ordinary thing," said Akhtar.
"We have made some good and bad films. We have made some excellent films as well. I think Indian cinema is at such a point that the future can only be bright and in another 10 years it will reach great heights," said Akhtar, who has penned songs for films like "Mr.India", "Tezaab", "1942: A Love Story", "Dil Chahta Hai" and "Refugee".
Akhtar forayed into Bollywood as a scriptwriter with "Yakeen". Later he joined hands with Salim Khan and the duo together wrote blockbusters like "Zanjeer", "Sholay", "Yaadon Ki Baraat", "Deewar", "Kranti" and "Don".

We've been vindicated, say Bachchans after Bofors revelations

With former Swedish police chief Sten Lindstrom giving him a clean chit in the Bofors gun payoff scandal, Amitabh Bachchan Wednesday said the accusations had led to years of "anguish of petulant blame".
"I speak from personal experience and personal exoneration. 25 years after the incident, I read today from one that pioneered accusation and investigation, of innocence. Of the fault that never lay before me. Of one that remained and shall perhaps remain a darkened spot, blemished beyond all recognition, but in admittance of wrong doing against me," Amitabh wrote on his blog bigb.bigadda.com.
"No one shall be able to understand or even remotely fathom, the hours and days and months and years of the anguish of petulant blame, that I had to go through. But will it really interest another? No it shall not," Amitabh, who was MP at the time, added.
Along with the late Rajiv Gandhi, the 69-year-old star was implicated in the kickbacks scandal on the Rs.1,500 crore gun deal.
His wife, Rajya Sabha MP Jaya Bachchan also spoke out. "We knew the truth 25 years back but justice takes its own time and our stand has been vindicated," she said.
In an interview to website thehoot.org, Lindstrom, who had operated under pseudonym Swedish Deep Throat, said there was no evidence to show that Gandhi had taken a bribe in the Bofors deal but he didn't stop the cover-up to protect Italian businessman Ottavio Quattrochi.
He also said the case against actor and then Congress MP Amitabh Bachchan and his family was planted in Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter by Indian investigators.
"Their mission was misguidance, connived to its maximum, for issues that never ever did be of any concern in the execution of their own selfish mercenary agenda. They won momentarily. But lost ultimately. Lost position and strength and power yes, but importantly their conscience. And today that counts the most!" said Amitabh.
The Bofors gun payoff scandal was a major corruption scandal in India during the 1980s and 1990s implicating then prime minister Rajiv Gandhi and several others who were accused of receiving kickbacks from Bofors AB for winning a bid to supply India 155 mm field howitzers. The scale of the corruption -- estimated to the tune of Rs.64 crore -- was far worse than any that India had seen before and directly led to the defeat of Gandhi's ruling Indian National Congress party in the November 1989 general elections.

Justin Bieber Pens Song About Paternity Claim, to Debut 'Boyfriend' Video May 2

Justin Bieber isn't done hitting back at Mariah Yeater, who accused him of fathering her child. After using a "Borat" video to mock the 20-year-old girl, the Canadian teen heartthrob revealed he has written a song about the baby daddy accuser.

"There's a song about that girl - Mariah Yeater - that said she was gonna have my baby," so the boyfriend of Selena Gomez told reporters in London on Monday, April 23 night when asked about his inspirations behind songs for his upcoming album "Believe".

"There are songs about things I'm going through. I wrote songs about different situations," the pint-sized singer went on adding. Claiming that he has recorded 40 songs, he is unsure that the track about Yeater will make it into the cut. "Every song has a piece of me, it's hard to pick. I wrote almost all of them or co-wrote them," he went on sharing.

On another occasion, Bieber announced when the music video for his new single "Boyfriend" will come out. "The 'Boyfriend' video should be coming in like seven or eight days... Pretty soon," he told Capital FM.

His manager Scooter Braun later confirmed that the clip will debut in full on May 2. On Tuesday, April 24, the "Baby" singer also took to Twitter to spread the news as writing, "and yes...the #BOYFRIENDvideo hits next week. FINALLY."

"Boyfriend" is the first single from Bieber's third studio album "Believe", which is set to hit stores in the U.S. on June 19.

Scarlett Johansson Exits 'Iron Man 3', Hong Kong Star Andy Lau in Talks to Join

While her name appears on the casting calls of "Iron Man 3", Scarlett Johansson has made it clear that she will not return to the third armored hero movie. The Black Widow depicter confirmed her departure to Screen Rant by claiming that she would not reprise her role as Black Widow in the next "Iron Man" film.

Though she will not join Robert Downey Jr.'s adventure as Tony Stark in his third movie, Johansson did admit that she hopes there will be a standalone movie for Black Widow. The 27-year-old actress revealed that she has pitched the idea of a Jason Bourne-esque superhero movie about the gun-wielding female agent.

As Johansson confirmed she will not return to "Iron Man 3", another news came out that Hong Kong superstar Andy Lau is in talks to join the anticipated movie. As quoted by Twitch, Hong Kong's Popular tech and style site NeonPunch reported that Lau is in final negotiation to play a scientist friend of Stark.

The site claimed that Lau's character will be "a Chinese scientist who comes to the aid of his old buddy Tony Stark by providing him with some new tech that will help him battle Ben Kingsley's villain, but more importantly Aldrich Killian (Guy Pearce) and his Extremis biotechnology."

The casting rumor aside, director Shane Black recently spilled some tidbits about "Iron Man 3" when attending the 2012 CinemaCon. The filmmaker said that the upcoming movie will be more of a "technological thriller" and a "crisis movie." The story will take place in the world of "international war, arms and terror" and it will "put Tony Stark through the wringer."

As for the villain, while it has been long speculated that The Mandarin will appear as the major supervillain, Shane remained tight lipped about which bad guy Iron Man will face in the next film. He, however, noted that whoever the villain is, the character will be one that would "frighten in today's world."

"Iron Man 3" reportedly will be loosely based on Warren Ellis' six-issue "Extremis" comic book series, which presents a new origin story that focuses on nanotechnology. The movie is scheduled to begin filming in North Carolina this May, before continuing in China in late summer.

Walt Disney Pictures will release "Iron Man 3" in the U.S. on May 3, 2013.

Procuder Avi Arad quipped, "It's a thrill to have Alex and Bob put their stamp in this franchise that we all love so well. They have an innate understanding of what makes Peter Parker not just a superhero, but a hero for all of us."

Sharing their excitement for being attached to "Amazing Spider-Man 2", Kurtzman and Orci said in a joint statement, "We grew up as huge Spider-Man fans so, to us, the opportunity to work on this film is akin to being handed the Holy Grail."

The duo, who also penned the script for Michael Bay's "Transformers", went on gushing, "We love the direction Sony and the filmmakers are taking the Peter Parker/Spider-Man mythology and we couldn't be more excited to be a part of this legendary franchise."

The first draft for "Amazing Spider-Man 2" was written by James Vanderbilt. The production is tentatively scheduled to kick off in the first quarter of 2013, while the film itself is set to arrive in cinemas nationwide on May 2, 2014. As for the first movie, which sees Andrew Garfield as the titular superhero, it will open this summer on July 3.

Heidi Klum Covers Nudity With Body Paint for Beauty Brand Ad

Heidi Klum has stripped naked for another photo shoot. Having posed in the buff for the May issue of Allure magazine recently, the "Project Runway" host made use of her personal site on Tuesday, April 24 to uncover a picture of her lying against a white backdrop in nothing but colorful body paint.

In the posting, the 38-year-old supermodel dished that the colorful image came from her latest photo shoot with Astor Cosmetics, and was done to celebrate the beauty brand's 60th anniversary of the brand. She went on to reveal that the intricate body paint design was the work of makeup artist Joanne Gair, and took 12 hours to complete.

"But this actually wasn't the first time she has painted me from head to toe," she continued sharing. "This was probably close to the 13th time I've been body painted by her, so I'm used to getting it done - the process takes awhile, so you have to be good at being patient! I don't mind sitting still for such a long time though, it's a living piece of art that I'm so honored to be a part of."

Speaking of her body, Klum recently told Allure that it has never been touched by any cosmetic surgery procedures. "I'm proud to be able to say, in this day and age, I haven't done anything," declared the estranged wife of Seal. "Everyone has a view of what's pretty and what's not pretty, and [surgery] just doesn't look pretty to me. Especially when I see it on really young girls."

Nicki Minaj Reactivates Twitter Account Nine Days After Deleting It

It doesn't take long for Nicki Minaj to make her return to Twitter. The "Starships" raptress has reactivated her account around nine days after she furiously deleted it on April 15 following disagreement with some followers. While she has yet to tweet anything, more than 1 million users have been back following her again at the time of publication.

The 29-year-old pulled the plug on her account on the social networking site shortly after blocking fan site NickiDaily.com for posting songs from "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded" ahead of its April 3 release in the United States. Her final tweet, at the time, read, "Like seriously, its but so much a person can take. Good f**king bye."

When asked about her abrupt exit during an interview on BBC's "Graham Norton Show", Minaj explained, "A voice in my head told me to delete my Twitter and that's what I did. I had 11 million followers and I hope they will wait for me." She added, "I reply all the time and get to know them by name and I have a really personal bond with them ...not all 11 million, but at least 10 of them a day."

In another interview, the "Super Bass" femcee denied the leaking of her music triggered her decision to delete her account. "Let's set the record straight because a lot of times I don't speak on things, but I don't want people to think that's why I deleted my Twitter," she told U.K.'s Capital FM. "I just needed a moment to myself. Because some page posted things about me - I mean, I've read horrible things about myself. I wouldn't delete my Twitter over that."

Report: Drew Barrymore Is Expecting a Baby Girl

Words have run rampant that Drew Barrymore is expecting her first child with fiance Will Kopelman. While the Edith Bouvier Beale of "Grey Gardens" remained mum over the swirling speculations, it is suggested that she is having a baby girl. An insider told Life & Style, "She's so excited."

The 37-year-old actress herself has admitted in the past that she would love to have a daughter of her own. "I feel I'm sort of surrounded by children and I do feel I'm going to have a child at some point," she said. "Maybe a little girl. I feel it, but I don't know if it's going to happen. We'll just have to wait and see."

The baby sex news came just days after Barrymore and Kopelman had a get-together with close friends and family to reportedly celebrate their wedding and baby shower. The gathering took place at the Los Angeles home of Leonard Goldberg, the co-producer of the "Charlie's Angels" movies, last Saturday, April 21.

A witness told Us Weekly, "Everyone was doting on pregnant Drew and asking her how she is feeling. She is so thrilled to be expecting, and also really excited about the wedding." Another source informed PEOPLE that the Hollywood star is "very laid back" about her wedding, and added, "She is definitely not a bridezilla."

Barrymore became engaged to Kopelman over the 2011 holidays. The art consultant reportedly asked the "Going the Distance" actress for her hand in marriage while they vacationed in Sun Valley, Idaho. She sparked pregnancy rumors back in February after she was spotted holding what seems to be a sonogram picture as she left a doctor's office in Beverly Hills.

Deion Sanders Slapped With Misdemeanor Simple Assault Charge

Deion Sanders isn't exactly trouble free after his estranged wife, Pilar, got arrested for allegedly attacking him on Monday, April 23. According to police, the former NFL star has been charged with misdemeanor simple assault for his role in the altercation that took place at their mansion in suburban Dallas, Texas.

The Associated Press reported that Deion got the citation, which carries a fine of up to $500, following further investigation by the police. While refusing to offer details, Prosper police spokesman Celso Martinez explained that it "covers any act considered aggressive and could be as simple as touching or defensively jerking away from someone's grip."

Pilar was arrested on domestic violence charges for "assault family violence" offense. Her arrest came just hours after Deion tweeted, "Pray for me and my kids now! They just witnessed their mother and a friend jump me in my room. She's going to jail n I'm pressing charges!" He also tweeted a photo of him filing out the police report, which has since been removed.

After being held overnight in Collin County Jail, Pilar was released on Tuesday. Upon her release, she told reporters, "I am innocent. I understand that I have very little chance at beating a Hall of Fame, two-sport man that everyone seems to love and adore. I'm a full-time mom, 100% for my children, and I just haven't been given a fair shake since any of this began."

Also on Tuesday, an emergency protective order was issued against Pilar, who is in the midst of a bitter divorce with Deion. A magistrate judge ordered her to stay away from their Dallas home for 60 days. She was also told not to threaten or harass any member of the family.

Aishwarya was the first choice for Lolita of Parineeta

Vidya Balan might have become very popular with her out-of-genre movie like ‘The dirty picture’ and brave broadcast like ‘Kahaani’, but this acquired fame wasn’t merely a matter of change. There was a time when this potential actress had to struggle even to find a debut.
She had made an entry into the industry with the classics ‘Parineeta’ playing the love interest of two men. Her struggle had become more concerned since the producer of ‘Parineeta’ had someone else in mind. Though Vidya Balan is a choice of director Pradeep Sarkar, Vidhu Vinod Chopra had Aishwarya in his mind for the role.
Pradeep Sarkar had suggested Vidya’s name to Vidhu when they were thinking of ‘Parineeta’ but Vidhu had already set his mind for Aishwarya. He felt that Ash would be more suitable for the role a beautiful Bengali lady and could be easily depicted as the love interest of two men. Moreover, he wanted an actress with the calibre to live up to what the role demanded and not some new-comer in the industry. But on Sarkar’s request he agreed to give Vidya a shot.
They tested her and felt her to be suitable for the role. Later, the movie was nominated in two categories of which Vidya captured the Best Female Debut Award. Two back to back hits and she became the most sought after actress in the industry. She is going to be next seen in Vidhu’s production, ‘Ferrari ki sawaari’.

Shahid Kapoor's Dream of working with Karan Johar Could not be fulfilled

Seems like Shahid’s dream to work with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions has to be placed back for a while though the chances of its comeback at some later point is not confirmed. Shahid has currently faced a serious follow up by a stalker when the woman dodged all securities and managed to knock Shahid’s doors with an intention to meet with the actor.
The woman claims Shahid to be her husband and Shahid got thoroughly engaged in the situation though he refused to comment on the matter, the woman being the daughter of an iconic actor of his time. Also Shahid is getting feedback about his next ‘Teri meri kahani’. Stuck between all these chaos, he now have to deal with the fact that the Hindi remake of ‘Vettai’ will now be produced only by UTV.
It was his idea to have the film co-produced by Dharma and UTV when he got the proposal of the film. But Karan already is co producing a project with Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms and he doesn’t want another co-production simultaneously. He says that he has a long trusted relationship with UTV and he doesn’t want to hamper it. He also made it clear that there are no ill feelings between the two production houses and they are associated with each other in many other joint ventures.

Katrina Kaif hopes to be a part of Dabangg 2

After mesmerizing the audience with her latka-jhatkas in ‘Agneepath’ and ‘Tees Maar Khan’, Katrina wants to do an item number in ‘Dabangg 2’. Accompanied by the acting department, the hot item numbers in these films have made Katrina the number one item girl. She had left behind many well established item girls of the industry that they have raised a serious concern about their future existence in the industry, item numbers being the easiest way of making huge money in a short term contract.
Kat expressed her heartfelt desire to perform the item number in the sequel of ‘Dabangg’ during the shooting of ‘Ek tha tiger’ withSalman Khan. Taking into account the huge history between Salman and Katrina, there is a very high probability that Kat might groove in an item number. The duo spent a considerable amount of time during the shooting of ‘Ek tha tiger’. It was only then when she divulged her secret desire to Salman Khan.
It is now to be seen whether the role of Kat in ‘Dabangg 2’ restricts only to an item number or something more that that. The lead actress in ‘Dabangg’, Sonakshi Sinha is being cast again for ‘Dabangg 2’ co-starring with Salman Khan. This time the producer of the film Arbaaz Khan is going to take the responsibility of direction himself.

Megan Fox Expecting a Baby With Brian Austin Green

A baby is likely to be on the way for Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green. Words that the former "Transformers" beauty and her actor husband are expecting their first child together have actually flown around since late March, but it wasn't until recently that a source confirmed the rumors to E! News.

The latest pregnancy claim came out after 25-year-old Fox recently revealed how many children she would like to have. In an interview for the April issue of Cosmopolitan, the actress who will make an appearance in "The Dictator" admitted, "I want at least two, probably three kids. I've always been maternal."

Should the report be true, the baby will be Green's second child. The former "Beverly Hills, 90210" actor already has a 10-year-old son, Kassius, with his ex-girlfriend, Vanessa Marcil.

Fox's pregnancy rumors were first brought up by Star magazine. Back in March, the tabloid reported that the "Friends with Kids" actress and her husband of nearly two years "just found out" that she's pregnant, adding that the twosome "are incredibly excited" though the pregnancy was unexpected. A source added at the time, "It's still early, so they are only telling close friends and family members."

Pics: Katy Perry Snapped Kissing and Hugging Robert Ackroyd at Coachella

Katy Perry has found a new man in her life, and she's not afraid of flaunting her affection to him in public. The "Part of Me" hitmaker was caught on camera on Sunday, April 22 passionately kissing Florence and the Machine's guitarist Robert Ackroyd while at 2012 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

The estranged wife of Russell Brand donned purple high-waisted shorts and a matching sheer blouse for the summer festival, while her male companion sported casual look with a white T-shirt and jeans. Looking carefree, the twosome were all smiles as they hugged, kissed and swayed to music in the crowd.

Words are, Perry and Ackroyd were also together at Coachella last weekend. A source told Life & Style, "Backstage at the Artist Lounge at Coachella last weekend, Katy kept saying her boyfriend was the guitar player for Florence + the Machine. She and a bunch of friends were supposed to go see Dr. Dre together, but Katy said she was waiting to watch her boyfriend perform!"

On April 15, the twosome reportedly watched Rihanna perform during Calvin Harris' set together. A friend of Perry, however, told Us Weekly, "Katy's been trying to get [Russell] back! She's a lost soul right now. Right now, Katy and Russell are trying to get to the point where they can at least be friends."

Perry separated from husband of 14 months, Brand, after the "Rock of Ages" actor filed for divorce in December 2011. The pair reached a divorce settlement, and were granted a divorce by a Los Angeles judge in February this year. Their divorce will become final in July after the six-month waiting period required by California law.

Emotional Jennifer Hudson Takes Stand at Family Murder Trial as First Witness

The murder trial of William Balfour, who is accused of killing Jennifer Hudson's mother, brother and nephew, has begun on Monday, April 23, and the singer/actress was surprisingly the first witness called to testify. The "American Idol" alum took to the stand after the opening statements from a prosecutor and defense attorney for her former brother-in-law.

While she didn't speak of the shootings themselves, the "Think Like a Man" crooner revealed that she had repeatedly told her sister Julia not to marry Balfour. Wearing a simple all-black dress and little makeup, she said with a trembling voice, "I told her over and over again to not marry him. We did not like how he treated her."

Having told the court that she "talked to her [mother] every single day," the "Where You At" singer recalled the day of her murder, "I noticed that - I'm looking to see the text from my mom, and it wasn't any." She went on to share in a soft voice, "I kept sitting there wondering, 'Like that's strange.' That was the first thing I said, 'My mom didn't text me.' "

Jennifer was also asked if she was ever friends with Balfour, whom she knew from junior high school. Firm in her reply, the 30-year-old singer who won an Oscar for her role in "Dreamgirls" said, "Never." She added, "I tried to keep my distance from William Balfour." At one point of her more than 30 minutes on the stand, she broke down, but regained her composure after taking a moment to dab her tears.

Later in the day, Jennifer's sister Julia took turn testifying. She revealed that Balfour had made deathly threats against her and her family over two dozen times following their February 2008 separation. She claimed that Balfour told her after she refused to reconcile with him, "If you leave me, you will be the last to die. I'm going to kill your family first."

During her testimony, Julia described Balfour as a jealous man. She said that he was even jealous of her 7-year-old son, Julian, recalling that he wouldn't let the boy hug or kiss her after she returned from a "Dreamgirls" promotional trip to Japan with Jennifer. "He would say, 'that is my wife, get off of my wife,' " she said.

Balfour is charged with first-degree murder in the killing of 57-year-old Darnell Donerson, 29-year-old Jason Hudson and 7-year-old Julian King. He is also charged with home invasion, aggravated kidnapping, residential burglary and possession of a stolen motor vehicle. He has claimed innocence to all charges. If convicted, he would face a mandatory life sentence.

The black-and-white image featuring the Material Girl in the nude with just a strategically placed bed sheet to cover her bottom half will go up for auction at Bonham's in New York City on May 8. Fox News reported that it is expected to bring in over $10,000.

In the nude picture taken by fashion photographer Steven Meisel, the "Girl Gone Wild" singer sports bleach-blonde hair and dark eye make-up. She stares seductively into the camera as she places a lit cigarette into her mouth. The image was actually intended for her controversial 1992 book, "Sex", which contains a series of sexually provocative and explicit images.

Of the picture, Judith Eurich from the sale room told Daily Mail, "This is an absolutely stunning image and it is just a beautiful tone of grey. It is not just black and white it is grey and silvery. Madonna was posing for a number of photographers at the time this was taken in the 1990s when she was in her early 30s."

"She was going through a phase of having bleach blonde hair and heavy dark eye make-up that gave her a dramatic look - and of course she has a gorgeous body," Eurich continued. "She is a very healthy person and I'd imagine the cigarette is just a prop to make her look sexy and sultry. There are Madonna superfans and devotees across the world who would love to own it."

Francis Lawrence Officially Offered Director Gig for 'Hunger Games' Sequel

Francis Lawrence is close to land the coveted role of directing "Catching Fire". The helmer of "I Am Legend" and "Water for Elephants" has been officially given the offer to replace "The Hunger Games" director Gary Ross in the sequel on Thursday, April 19, a spokeswoman for Lionsgate confirmed to Variety.

Lawrence has been included in the list of potential directors after Ross bowed out of the franchise because of a "fixed and tight production schedule". He was being considered along with "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" helmer Alfonso Cuaron, "A Dangerous Method" helmer David Cronenberg and "Babel" helmer Alejandro Gonzales Inarrity among others.

It is still unclear whether Lawrence accepted the offer. Lionsgate's spokeswoman noted when confirming news of the offer that the studio has not closed the directing deal. The studio itself plans to start filming the follow-up to "Hunger Games" in the late summer for a November 22, 2013 release date in the United States.

In "Catching Fire", Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark are getting punished for their defiance. They will be forced to compete in a special 75th staging of the Hunger Games, where they must compete against past winners. Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson will return as Katniss and Peeta with Liam Hemsworth expected to reprise his role as Gale Hawthorne.

First Look at Skinny Anne Hathaway as Fantine on 'Les Miserables' Set

After debuting her super short pixie cut for her role as Fantine in "Les Miserables", Anne Hathaway has finally been spotted slipping into the factory worker's garb on the movie's set. The Selina Kyle of "The Dark Knight Rises" donned a pale lilac short-sleeved dress during the production in London, U.K. on Wednesday, April 18.

Joining the 29-year-old beauty during the filming was Hugh Jackman who sported unruly grey hair as he portrays Jean Valjean. Standing side by side on a balcony, the two actors appeared to be singing in the scenes. In between takes, the "Alice in Wonderland" star kept herself warm under a black jacket.

Hathaway underwent a drastic makeover to play Fantine in the movie adaptation of the famous play. Not only did she chop her long dark hair super short, but she also lost weight to support her portrayal of the dying prostitute.

However, the Emmy-winning actress shot down rumors that she engaged in a crash-diet. "She is losing weight for the part, but not that much. Just enough for her to look more frail," her representative said in response to reports that she dropped 16 pounds.

"Les Miserables" itself centers on the struggle by ex-con Valjean to outrun his past and his relentless pursuer Javert. Tom Hooper tackles the helming duty with Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Redmayne, Sacha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter joining the cast ensemble. The musical film is due December 14 in the U.S. theaters.

Johnny Depp Reacts to Death of Jonathan Frid: The World Has Lost a True Original

Jonathan Frid has passed away. The actor who was best known for his portrayal of Barnabas Collins on soap opera "Dark Shadows" died peacefully in his sleep at a hospital in his native Hamilton, Ontario last Friday, April 13. As news of his passing spread, his predecessor Johnny Depp shared his memory of the 87-year-old actor.

"Jonathan Frid was the reason I used to run home from school to watch 'Dark Shadows'," recalled Depp, who takes the role of Collins in upcoming "Dark Shadows" film, in a statement released Thursday, April 19. He continued, "His elegance and grace was an inspiration then and will continue to remain one forever more."

Depp went on to share, "When I had the honor to finally meet him, as he so generously passed the torch of Barnabas to me, he was as elegant and magical as i had always imagined. My deepest condolences to his family and friends." The 48-year-old stated in the end, "The world has lost a true original."

Frid's passing came about a month before the Tim Burton-directed movie, in which he had a cameo role, opens wide in theaters across the United States on May 11. Burton himself has remembered the late actor through a statement. "It's a sad day," he said. "I'm glad I had the opportunity to meet Jonathan on the set this past spring. He left an indelible impression. Barnabas lives on!"

Another star paying tribute was Frid's co-star on "Shadows" series Kathryn Leigh Scott. In memory of the actor, she wrote on her website, "I'm so grateful to have worked with Jonathan, and to have known him as the charismatic, entertaining, complex, and plain-spoken man that he was. What fun we had working together! He was irascible, irreverent, funny, caring, lovable, and thoroughly professional."

"I won't ever forget the moment when the two Barnabas Collinses met, one in his late 80s and the other in his mid-40s, each with their wolf's head canes. Jonathan took his time scrutinizing his successor's appearance. 'I see you've done the hair,' Jonathan said to Johnny Depp, 'but a few more spikes.' Depp, entirely in character, replied, 'Yes, we're doing things a bit differently.' "

Jim Pierson, a friend and spokesman for Dan Curtis Productions, the creator of "Dark Shadows", said that Frid's health has been declining in recent weeks before he died. The actor, who is survived by a nephew, Donald Frid, requested that there was no funeral and there will be no memorial service. Pierson told The Associated Press, "He really was kind of a no-fuss guy."

Sanjay Dutt to sing extra song for 'Department'

The trailers of "Department" are already in theatres and the promotional clippings are ready to be aired on the small screen. But the film's producers have decided to shoot an additional song, to be sung by actor Sanjay Dutt.
Sanjay will also feature in the song, to be choreographed by his friend and protege, Ahmed Khan, according to a source from Viacom18 Motion Pictures, producers of "Department".
"The peppy edgy number has been composed by Sandeep Chowta and Mr.Dutt would be recording the song in his own voice. There's no doubt that Sanjay Dutt is a major attraction after 'Agneepath'. We want to make sure he is projected as the film's USP," said the source.
Sanjay will himself take charge of the song, which besides being aired on all the channels, would also be appended on to the Ram Gopal Varma-directorial for the end credits.
Choreographer Khan confirmed the shooting of the additional song for the movie, which also features Rana Daggubati and megastar Amitabh Bachchan.
"Yes, we are shooting a song for 'Department'. It's a music video to be sung by Baba (Sanjay). He and I are getting together once again after 'Aye Shivani' in Sanjay Chhel's 'Khoobsurat' (he sang it and I shot it)," said Khan.

Apart from "Aye Shivani", Sanjay had also sung a part of the title track of Rajkumar Hirani's "Munnabhai M.B.B.S." and also gave his voice to a song in "Kaante".

Rihanna apparently believes there isn't anyone who dislikes Adele because she finds it hard to understand the idea of people hating the British pop sensation. A big fan of the "Rolling in the Deep" hitmaker, Riri jokingly says she would personally deal with the hater if there were any.

"Well, who doesn't like Adele?" the Barbados singer says in an interview with Ok! Magazine recently. "Honestly, if I find somebody who doesn't like Adele there will be trouble." She adds to the publication, "I'd take that very personally!"

Ryan Seacrest, President Obama and More Pay Tribute to the Late Dick Clark

Hollywood is mourning the death of another one of its iconic TV host and producers. "America's Oldest Teenager" Dick Clark died of a massive heart attack at the age of 82 on Wednesday, April 18 morning. As soon as news of his death was made public, tributes to the longtime "American Bandstand" host began to pour in.

Among the first to express condolences was Ryan Seacrest, who took over Clark's hosting duties for "New Year's Rockin' Eve". In a lengthy statement, the "American Idol" host said, "I am deeply saddened by the loss of my dear friend Dick Clark. He has truly been one of the greatest influences in my life. I idolized him from the start, and I was graced early on in my career with his generous advice and counsel."

"When I joined his show in 2006, it was a dream come true to work with him every New Year's Eve for the last six years. He was smart, charming, funny and always a true gentleman. I learned a great deal from him, and I'll always be indebted to him for his faith and support of me. He was a remarkable host and businessman and left a rich legacy to television audiences around the world. We will all miss him."

Jenny McCarthy, who also helped co-host "New Year's Rockin' Eve", also shared her reaction to the sad news. Speaking to Laura Saltman of Access Hollywood, the 39-year-old actress remembered Clark as "a powerhouse". Admitting that the prospect of doing this year's show without him is "making my eyes tear up," she added, "He won't be there. It's going to be so different."

Mario Lopez, meanwhile, used his Twitter to remember Clark. "It was truly an honor to have worked with him, learn from him and to be able to call him a friend," he wrote. "He was a great man and an even better friend. The word legend is thrown around a lot, but it's never more appropriate than when used in describing Mr. Clark.. He was a real inspiration & influence in my life. I will dearly miss my friend... Rest well DC."

From the music world, condolences came from the likes of Madonna and Janet Jackson among others. The Material Girl tweeted, "Rest in peace Dick Clark," along with a link to a YouTube video of her interview with Clark, and Janet wrote, "Dick Clark changed the face of musical television. He was wonderful to many artists including our family. We will miss him. God bless."

Barry Manilow took to his Facebook to share his grief. "This is a sad day. He was a dear friend, supporting me and my music for all of my years in the business," he said. He was so instrumental in my career as well as all the other Motown acts and so many others in the recording business. Good bye my friend, rest in peace."

The entertainment world wasn't the only one mourning the death of Clark. President Barack Obama has released a statement as well. "Michelle and I are saddened to hear about the passing of Dick Clark," he said. "With 'American Bandstand,' he introduced decades' worth of viewers to the music of our times. He reshaped the television landscape forever as a creative and innovative producer."

"And, of course, for 40 years, we welcomed him into our homes to ring in the New Year. But more important than his groundbreaking achievements was the way he made us feel - as young and vibrant and optimistic as he was. As we say a final 'so long' to Dick Clark, America's oldest teenager, our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends - which number far more than he knew."

Clark, who had a stroke in 2004, suffered a heart attack after checking into St. John's Health Center for an outpatient procedure on Tuesday night, his representative explained in a statement. Audio Recording of Mel Gibson's Expletive-Filled Rant in Costa Rica Released

An audiotape that documented Mel Gibson's angry rant while at his Costa Rica estate has been brought to public attention. Screenwriter Joe Eszterhas, who earlier accused the Hollywood actor of making a number of anti-Semitic comments, was the one who released the recording, The Wrap reported.

In the tape reportedly recorded by Eszterhas' 15-year-old son on December 17, 2011, Gibson can be heard screaming at the top of his lungs at the screenwriter over the lack of the script for their joint movie project, "The Maccabees". He shouted, "Why don't I have a first draft of 'The Maccabees'? What the f**k have you been doing?"

The star of "The Beaver" didn't only direct his anger at Eszterhas, but also at his ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva. "I am earning money for a filthy little c**ksucker who takes advantage of me. Just like every other motherf**ker," he lashed out before a number of banging sounds can then be heard.

It was said that Gibson stormed around the house and even threw a cellphone during the tirade. Eszterhas was a guest along with his wife Naomi and son Nick. Other houseguests, at the time, reportedly included screenwriter Randall Wallace, his girlfriend Elizabeth Topp, and Gibson's friend Brad Hillstrom.

Explaining why he released the tape, Eszterhas told The Wrap, "Gibson called me a liar. And I also have some reason to believe he's creating a PR blitz questioning my truthfulness." The "Basic Instinct" writer went on to say, "The bottom line is it shows to me he badly needs help."

"My interest isn't to damage him with this tape but to prevent damage being done to others, starting with Jews, including Oksana and now, I'm sure, me. I strongly believe that unless he seeks and receives some kind of psychiatric help, someone is going to get hurt."

Earlier this April, Eszterhas sent Gibson a nine-page letter in which he said that the actor hates Jews and accused him of making threat to kill Oksana. In response, Gibson said in a lengthy letter, "I am not going to respond to it line by line, but I will say that the great majority of the facts as well as the statements and actions attributed to me in your letter are utter fabrications."
